Garwood came in at the 125th best town in New Jersey and 8th best in Union County. Garwood is one of the best places to live in New Jersey. Garwood is an extremely nice and family friendly town. The town is very safe and small so everyone knows everyone in the town. The school system is very good and the children in the town have a great education because of it. There are many things people can do in this small town as well like going to a bar, restaurant, coffee shop, or park.
The name of Garwood, was a name, which was used to honor the first president of the Garwood Land And Improvement Company. This name was given to the borough before it was incorporated as a Borough.
The Garwood Public Schools serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade at Lincoln School. Public school students in ninth through twelfth grades attend Arthur L. Johnson High School in neighboring Clark as part of a sending/ receiving relationship with the Clark Public School District.
